habitat 825 - almost done

the latest pics of lorcan o'herlihy's habitat 825. its been a while since I've posted but you can see the entire flickr photoset here.

the facade is looking pretty good, right?

but the side adjacent to the schindler house - well, that's a different story.

Primary and secondary elevations look pretty sweet. I'll have to go check it out. Just hope the Schindler house foundation isn't totally jacked.

One thing I have to laugh about it the fact that this project is to the north and could not possibly cast a shadow on the schindler house... So you cannot say it was designed not to cast any shadow on the schindler house! Actually the high side is closer to the schindler house, but anyway interesting design and yes, the green looks good for now. Not sure if I'd still be saying that in 2 years...

There was a competition the MAK Center had a few years ago as a response to the O'Herlihy project. It was for a Vertical Garden - and some of the entries were pretty amazing.
