my civic duty

I keep forgetting I have jury duty next week - possibly the worst timing, work-wise. I guess I have to call in over the weekend to see if I report to court on mon. has anyone else served in LA? any advice? lunch suggestions? I served in ny and was dismissed after two days of waiting, and happened to have two of my most productive days of writing ever. so back to that lunch thing, should I play it safe and go to sushi gen, or explore something new? (and I've done the daikokuya, mr. ramen thing too - nothing better at midnight or when its raining in LA).
