piano exhibition at lacma

opening march 13th at lacma - Renzo Piano & Building Workshop: Selected Projects. lacma, gearing up for their expansion by piano, pulls a guggenheim - mounting a (self-congratulatory?) exhibition of their selected architect. let's hope its better than the gehry retrospective the guggenheim hosted a few months before 9/11.

i liked that gehry exhibit at the moma. i was also really looking forward to that new structure on the east river. too bad that fuckhead osama had to go and fuck it all up.

Museums do love celebrating the architects they choose to build their additions, don't they. Maybe the architect gets it written into their contract or something.

Keeping with that theme, among the first exhibits at the newly expanded MoMA was on Yoshio Taniguchi's work prior to expanding MoMA.

But unlike aram, I'm pretty glad Manhattan's not getting a Gehry crumpled-tissue-paper masterpiece. Certainly didn't work too well for Springfield.
