it doesn't matter how many prizes you win...
just a few weeks after winning the pritzker, thom mayne's latest project, the state capital building for juneau, alaska is on hold. the reasons? financing and public disapproval with the design. apparently the good people of alaska like their state capitals straight up with a dome, not an "egg."[via a daily dose of architecture]
