monday media
for once, an early start on monday media:- the wsj journal reports that house inventories are rising (in some cities sharply) as the market slows down. its perhaps an overly sunny outlook on what could be disastrous for the economy.
- first, architectural preservation was the favorite celebrity cause. now, with the reopening of the griffith observatory this fall, its science and, um, astronomy. the latimes reports on the griffith observatory's new mission: adding more theatricality to the science experience.
- and even though the magazine isn't online, this month's elle decor is practically the LA issue. articles on kelly wearstler's new restaurant design for bergdorf's in ny, the new(ish) tower bar (is there a magazine on the stands right now that hasn't written about it?), and even the new williams-sonoma home store in weho.

haven't seen the catalog but saw the site - that's not surprising. remember that w-s also owns west elm and pottery barn - the old navy and gap to their banana republic. so its not surprising that w-s is their high end brand. also - I know what you're saying about the traditional thing. I'm in love with restoration hardwares linens - especially the ridiculously priced hotel bedding.
