the latimes provides a fairly detailed account of the history of skid row downtown but pays only cursory attention to its future. so now if you're dying to know how skid row got its name, or what its borders are, look no further. if you need to know how downtown's gentrification affects the homeless, the poor, the disenfranchised, don't look to this article. but this one, from a few days earlier, might provide more insight.
