the new york times obsession with LA continues
yesterday's nytimes had a surplus of LA-related articles. never one to shy away from covering hollywood, LA was all up in the hizzouse yesterday:- the magazine provided the culinary history of casual dining in LA by way of hamburger hamlet. recipe for lobster bisque included.
- waaaay late to the party: the nytimes discovers LA's consignment shops.
- the crack journalists at the times question hollywood romances - could they possibly be a vehicle to promote movies? they look to US Weekly for answers.
- and they spend a night drinking with paul haggis in santa monica. he likes vodka and hates walker, texas ranger.

Thanks for the update. I've gotten too cheap to buy the NY Times on Sunday lately. Half of their LA articles always read as if they were written by someone who just came in for the weekend, then flew back to the Upper West Side. So much name-dropping! The only really interesting article was about Hamburger Hamlet. I love that old place on Sunset. Gotta go, Josh Brolin is at the door!
