monday media - tues edition
it seems like just yesterday that my monday media was a tues edition bc of a three day weekend. I would mourn the end of summer but that seems superfluous in a city like los angeles. it just means fewer bugs and more comfortable nights. anyway, a few news items of interest:- refugees from katrina have begun to arrive in LA - about 42 families in this area. another 300 people are expected to arrive in SF shortly and 80 arrived recently in san diego.
- wiki + human kindness = katrinashelter.com
- the rest of the world weighs in on the impact of katrina's on america's self-perception.
- now aram and I have somewhere to work after lunch at sushi gen.

When I got back into town yesterday, I had a note under my door. The guy who owns my apartment building is housing a couple (in his Studio City building) who lost everything in New Orleans. He's letting them stay there until they can build a new life here and is asking for donations of anything.
It appears my once heartless building owner actually has a heart. Amazing.
