going, going, gone...
spent the morning at my first auction, featuring mostly 19th century antiques and a few more modern items, in the incongruously named "city of commerce." didn't bid on anything but enjoyed watching the process. I did see a signed framed mark kostabi painting that looked a lot like this, go for just $350, on ebay the prices approach $1,000.the rest of the day was spent riding the subway in los angeles and exploring the stations. walked around hollywood and highland, hollywood and vine and union station (with a brief stop on olvera street for tacos and burnt milk candy). many many photos to post later.
